enginelane
TTS equipped 08 Shunter slow to move and respond to handset. When press direction button it speeds off in the same direction of travel and even if switch off power, leave for awhile and then switch back on is still moving even though number is recalled and motion set to zero. Any ideas please?

As a first step, try resetting the decoder (set CV8 to 8) and try again (remember it will now be set to loco 3). Fingers crossed the chip is still okay. Chrisr40
Try disabling dc running as well. Think it's cv29 but stand to be corrected.
enginelane
I had a go at CV29 but it made no difference.
RAF96
Does your controller support analogue loco running, if so select loco zero and turn the speed up then down again to zero. Stretched zero bit used for loco zero can upset some decoder equipped locos. Does your track have a bus terminator fitted. Even if you don’t have a bus you can connect one across the rails to stop voltage spikes which can also upset some decoders.
enginelane
Thanks will give it ago. It is a small shunting layout, 5ft by 1ft.
enginelane
Managed to get hold of a new TTS 08 sound chip and fitted to Loco. It works! So looks like I have a corrupted original chip. Is that it or can be be re blown or whatever?
smokebox
You could try contacting Hornby as they are pretty generous when it comes to faulty items, especially when they know they are known to fail.
