Welshpool to get new diesel loco?

I've just got a copy of The Earl, the WLLRs in house newsletter and they have said that they are hoping to get one of the Taiwanese BoBo diesel locos, DL-34, 25 tons and 520hp if they can get space on a freighter from Taiwan to the UK! It's large enough to rescue any full train (including loco) if needed and will go round the sharpest curves on the line. Here's a photo of a similar loco:

 

 

Interestingly there's already a model of these locos, at one point the 009 Society were talking about importing some but nothing came of it, if it does come over it will be interesting to see if anyone does try to import them! Anemodel are the manufacturer and there are some listed on eBay.

I have one of these and it's an excellent model. I am working on a narrow gauge loop layout with a hill in the loop. My plan is WHR on one side and Taiwanese forest railway on the other.

The locomotives were built in Japan by Nippon Sharyo.
