TwinBoo
I just read this article: https://www.anglocelt.ie/2022/06/24/agreement-on-rail-line-greenway/ It seems that the fate of the line from Navan to Kingscourt has been finally sealed with this agreement that confirms there’s basically no chance of gypsum or passenger services resuming on it. I know I’m a bit late as the articles a week old but I still found it interesting.
RMweb Gold Robert Shrives Posted July 5, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 5, 2022 A case of never saying never - this ensures retention of the route with no overbuilding as has crippled many plans in UK. Depending on land use changes, political will and economic demands it might have a future as a light rail project with parts of a shared way. Or become a bridal way for horse drawn traffic when it all goes "txxs up." Robert
jhb171achil
Well, no gypsum - but let’s hope that SOME day they’ll at least restore passenger services to Navan by either route…
