Hi All,

Does anybody use a Morley Vanguard controller on their layout?

My old H and M controllers do not seem to cut the mustard any more and I was thinking of buying one to replace them.

I have a twin track roundy roundy layout.

Any comments?

Best wishes,

Paul

As far as Morely controllers go they are very effective. I have a Vector Zero Three Crawler dual controller and it works very well with a wide range of locos.  It has the same sort of power output as an H&M Duette but the power is more controllable, and the provided "wander controllers"  are very useful!

As I understand it, the Vanguard is a high output dual controller ( 2.5A per track), mainly for O gauge or for OO where a large layout needs powering or locos requiring high current (eg old Hornby Dublo) are in use.

If you have high power requirements then you might need a Vanguard.

I too have one and found it does what it says on the tin. My only gripe is that slow speed control is a bit iffy but that could be down to dirty track!!! I think the on board CDU is a bit of a waste of time but it might suit some.

I am very interested in this new controller from Gaugemaster (Infinity?) - there are versions for DCC and DC but I am wobbling having seen the price! I particularly like the wireless feature.
