Scottish Region Mark 1 allocation

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am trying to research which Mark 1’s were allocated to the Scottish region in 1959-1961 as I would to create a rake using Bachmanns new Mark 1’s when they come out. Does anyone know which SK’s, CK’s and FK’s were allocated to the Scottish Region in this period or where I can look it up. Thanks Fred

Hi there, for my odd purposes I've made a list of the MkIs built for/ allocated new to ScR.

If you are able to wait an hour or so, I'll be able to get it on here for you.

Hi, sorry to revive the thread. Does anyone know when SC35393 was built and is it suitable to be renumbered as the ones listed in the last post. Thanks Fred

@Fredo

Longworth has SC35393 as part of Lot 30699 built in 1963, first noted in service March 1964, reallocated to M 'by 1972'.

Withdrawn Jan. 1984 then to KDB977581 in Sept. 1988.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that the last 200 or so BSKs were built new with Commonwealth bogies - this would include SC35393 in Lot 30699.

Completely missed that in the Longworth book!

The last 4 Lots (30699, 30700, 30721, 30728) nos. 35294-35499 were built with CW.

Hi, sorry to revive the thread again. Since Bachmann announced a Scottish Region Allocation BG on Wednesday, does anyone know where I can find out how many and which BG’s were allocated to the Scottish Region.Thanks Fred

Well now young Fredo, you were thinking dopey old 'Chard didn't bother with the BG clan in his listing up-thread. But that's where you'd be wrong!

Scottish didn't receive any from new and even by 1980 it only had tiny numbers. 81274, 81330, 81370, 81406 being the only few I can see. It similarly didn't get the Mk1 derived GUV or CCT breeds either.

Thanks CHARD, I had to remove 39-176G from my wish list as it’s no accurate. Also I am going to get 39-226F instead of 39-084 as 39-226F has the correct number. Fred
