I wonder if anyone could please enlighten me.  I am about to commence a layout and decided that I would try the Legacy Code 75 flat bottom rail track as I liked the look and also the reviews stating that the track stayed cleaner.
I recently ordered a box of 25 pieces from Rails of Sheffield. However after starting to chip my locos on a piece of the track I've already found a few where the wheel flanges hit the chairs. These are not old 1970's models but more recent Bachmann DCC ready models (I haven't tested them all yet - but have already found two in my first few locos chipped - a Bachmann Crab and a D11/2).  I would have expected I might have trouble with very old models - of which I don't really have any - but it looks like this problem is going to be widespread.
Is this an issue anyone has encountered with Peco code 75 or is it an issue specific to the Legacy track. I'm not going to start re-wheeling lots of locos, so if it's also an issue with Peco code 75 then I'll have to go for code 100. This would be regrettable as I've already bought several Peco code 75 points.

Thanks in advance.

No way should a D11 / 2 flanges hit rail chairs on code 75.    I had a similar issue with code 100,  I started with Peco, bought some "Code 100," from another source probably China and  loads of stock hit the cheap track rail chairs which were fine on Peco.  Peco is generally better engineered and better made so the wheels clear.  I must say that track looks horrible,  00 sleepers at H0 centres?

I have Peco code 75 Bullhead and flat bottom and some Legacy code 75 Bullhead, and I will not buy Legacy track again for this exact reason.

Most of my stock rolls fine on all the track, but there are some models that hit the chairs.  Most of them are the Hornby EMU's like the Class 423 with the old Lima wheels, can't think of any Bachmann off the top of my head however.

I believe this is due to Legacy being too accurate, whereas Peco have made compromises to allow older models to run.

I’ve not had any issues with chair strike on any Peco CD75 track either streamline or Bullhead with over 75 different locomotives from all the main manufacturers.

A quick look at Rails’ website and there is a warning of this and older wheel profile vehicles. Unfortunately with no universally adopted standard in wheel profiles this will be a problem for some models.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I presumed I would be okay as most of my locos are at least  2000 onwards. Also assumed with DCC concepts being behind it, with their reputation for quality items that it would be a step up. Oh well, lesson learned...I will buy a section of Peco code 75 and see if my locos run okay on it

Bump Like Redvers B, some time ago I bought a box of 25 Legacy code 75 track from Rails to use on a new layout.  Joined 2 lengths together as a test and run Accurascale, Bachmann, Dapol and Heljan locos on the track and all rattled along the track striking the chairs on each sleeper.

My existing layout uses Peco code 75 with no problems.  What on earth have DCC Concepts done?, the track in my view is not fit for purpose.

They failed to angle the rails inwards like the full size most likely.   Right profile wrong angle
