RMweb Premium paulontheball Posted August 26, 2024 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 26, 2024 (edited) *** As of 06/10/2024 now sold *** The time has come to sell my finescale (code 40 rail) N gauge layout 'Little Salkeld'. This DCC layout entered the exhibition circuit in late 2018 and was exhibited successfully a number of times until 2022. Despite a number of invitations to further exhibit the layout, other commitments have prevented it being shown during the last 2 years. Little Salkeld was featured in the March-2019 edition of Railway Modeller magazine and the June-2022 edition of BRM magazine. The layout is now offered for sale without rolling stock, however it is otherwise a complete 'going concern' and ready to exhibit. Included within the sale is a Lenz DCC system with 2 Hand Controllers, Trestles, lighting and the curtain used when exhibiting. I intend to sell all of the rolling stock separately as I have started a new project in EM Gauge, however I would be open to an appropriate offer for the stock as well. The code 40 finescale track is suitable for modern ready to run rolling stock (i.e. Graham Farish, Dapol etc) but is not suitable for older N Gauge stock with the 'pizza cutter' style wheels - these would need replacing. Little Salkeld can be operated by a single operator but is configured to enable 2 operators to run the layout at exhibitions. It would be ideally suited to either an experienced modeller or club and who are comfortable working with finescale track. I am looking for £1,800 for the layout with DCC system etc, however I am open to sensible offers More details available on request. The following is a Youtube video of a running session on Little Salkeld: - Credit is given to Tony Wright (Railway Modeller) and Phil Parker (BRM) for a number of the pictures shown here. Further information available on request. Paul Moss August 2024 Edited October 6, 2024 by paulontheball 4 4 1
