Seeking an example of Kernow Models  2H DEMU in Green with warning V produced by Bachmann  No. 31-235Z. Does anyone know where l could find one please?

Having just checked recent completed listings on eBay that's pretty cheap, relatively speaking.

Yes I thought so too - these models are very hard to find under £200, even straight DC - I think the cheapest I've ever seen one was £140 at S & J Models and that was many years ago (just checked, they don't have any at the moment).

 

Kernow have some bodyshells for sale, green with V's all gone now, but even they are £100 a pair. Ekmexhibitions have interiors, underframes and bogies as spares but that's all going to add up too and drive unit availability is uncertain. Nevertheless I'm going for it, aiming to put a blue set together for less than £150 (otherwise it's not worth doing in my view) but it'll have a rewheeled Lima motor bogie.....

I made myself up a Green with SYP 2H, using the bodyshells from Kernow, and the underframes, motor and bogie spares from Bachmann, and tbh, I might as well have bought a brand new one..... That being said, finding a mint boxed Green SYP example anywhere for a reasonable sum was proving difficult, hence going this route.

 

One thing I should mention is that the green with V's were from the first batch of Kernow 2H's, so that may be why they are harder to find. Also the DCC Sound on the first batch wasn't as good as the second batch. I'm not sure what they used for the first batch, but the second batch used Legomanbiffo on ESU V4's.
