RSS Fetcher
Greetings all. This week a couple of pics showing the arrangement of the shed area that being worked on for Long Meg. The first is a general view North (please forgive the working mess http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif and the reflections from the signal lenses from the flash which make it look like an invalid aspect is shown. ) http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e169/Moria15/long%20meg/DSC00087.jpg"> The lower points lead to the return loop, You can see the double junction, where the tracks to the right will lead to the main fiddle yard on the other side of the room, whilst the ballasted track leading under pollyfilla tunnel lead to the auto yards which hold 5 trains in each direction and run automatically, whils waiting for trains from the main yards to alternate with. The sequences will be that a train is despatched from the main yard, it then arrives at the double junction. The control system then makes a random choice.. does it go round the reverse loop and return to the main yard, does it swap with a train on the up line, or does it swap with a train on the down line. If it swaps with either up or down, then the train it swaps with returns to the main fiddle yard. All this is done under computer control leaving me to watch the trains go by on the main line whilst the computer is making it's decisions and select the next train from the main yard to send into the layout. This is the first time I have had the luxury of having the space for a permanent layout, some 20' x 15' and so the scenery is being built in blocks which are removable so that access can be gained to tracks hidden below, and also be worked on in small sections on the modelling bench. The first module is the all white section over the tunnel and is about 1.5 square feet. The second pic is of the shed.. needs work because right now its just a "Bachmann" shed but hopefully some disguise can be done, although this is hard because the shed is so distinctive, but hey.. I think it's better than the Peco one:) http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e169/Moria15/long%20meg/DSC00088.jpg"> The retaining wall, will be replaced to match the tunnel mouth stonework. Finally, the track needs some colour and toning down.. but hey it's progress http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif Regards to all Graham View the full article
