The idea of adding all those long lengths of wire simply to service the frog switching - and making it independent of the physical position of the switch , is to me, just a recipe for future problems. All those extra wires going all the way back to the control panel over potentially multiple board joins and connectors, just doesn't make any sense to me. all for the sake of a 3rd cheap microswitch or a local relay.

Not as bad as it sounds actually.

 

Permanent garage layout, no plugs/sockets.

Panel roughly central along length so diatance only 10' max.

Professional electronics engineer for nearly 50yrs so used to wiring & soldering.
