ejp
It's been done before by Triang (sort of) and Lima, but a new model of the VR's iconic double-ended, six motor, mutant F has just arrived from Auscision, and very nice they are. Auscision have served up their usual huge range of variations to empty the wallets of collectors suit layouts set at any time from 1952 to the present day. With the A class (a 1980s rebuild of around half the B's) released a couple of months ago Auscision now offer more of these in model form than were actually built. Mine are a pair in 1970s shape wearing the classic VR blue and gold (for my sensible layout), plus a 1997 condition machine in the colours of the private West Coast Railways (for Project Stupid). With Trainorama having the B's slightly more recent single-ended cousins of the S class on the way, it's a fine time to be modelling the local streamliners. Markeg
Hi EJP, they look very nice. At the Bendigo Model Rly club, a friend had his 2 blues double heading a load of wagons. Looked very nice. After a couple of derailments, they travelled very nicely. I was thinking of buying one, but I have 4 UK locos on order for 2010, and thats even before any new announcemnts. When I was about 15, my nephew and I came across a B class idling in Traralgon yards in Victoria and decided it was an opportunity too good to miss. We got the thing going, but quickly stopped it. So for a few metres we drove a B class. Nice. enjoy. Mark

ejp
With Auscision's B class not long out, Trainorama's long-delayed S class has now arrived to complete the Victorian bulldog family. Mine is later 1970s condition (fuel tank valances removed, nose door welded shut), though S303 is now working for Seymour Rail Heritage Centre and with some touches of yellow paint to meet modern OH&S requirements it would be fine for the present day too (see the Youtube video at the start of this thread).
