Hugh Flynn
Hi well new layout is under way for Pontefract show in January this is a small layout based upon Shortliners BOX STREET with a little alteration by me. This has really is being built with leftover bits & pieces from old kit spares. Main thing to buy is a highway overbridge. This layout is only a filler in for show before i have to concentrate on another project so want it finished by Xmas. see what you think of it so far Hugh
Chris Nevard
Nice neat work there Hugh - neat backdrop It's often these quickie fillers that are the most fun!
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted November 15, 2009 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 15, 2009 Hi Hugh Thanks for the advert for the Derby Show in the background of the first picture but it's a bit out of date now. Our next show is at Moorways Sports Centre 15/16 May 2010 :icon_thumbsup2: Mike

RMweb Gold Russ (mines a pint) Posted December 4, 2009 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 4, 2009 Very convincing background for such a small space! - whats the overall dimensions then?
Hugh Flynn
hi size of layout is 72" x 12" but sector plate sticks out about 12" from one corner so its just enough for loco & 2 wagons. Hugh
jhock
Great looking layout, small switching layouts are always good. It already has a close urban feel so when it done it should be great. Just shame Pontefract is a little to far for a railway show for me!
Chris Gilbert
Great work as always Hugh Looking forward to seeing it in May Chris
Hugh Flynn
hi well its been freezing today but yesterday Richard called in to do a bit of weathering on layout and today i have had a day off so have spent some time on layout so here is a update of photo,s so all thats to do is a bit of detail, figures, greenery etc Hugh
alcoRS1
very cool, I like it. coming a long great. that skip you have in the last picture, seems odd with the load in it, I would put scrap metal in there instead, it is a lot more believable that it would be used for that, you can get way with scape seeing you have an auto shop near by. Hugh Flynn
hi your right about skip think i will put scrap in it? Hugh
F-UnitMad
Very nice, and somehow it doesn't immediately look like the Box St plan as it's been 'stretched' a bit, 6ft instead of 4ft? I agree scrap would be a more likely load for the ro-ro skip, and I'd put supports under the near edge of the Overpass; wouldn't look quite so weird as the current 'floating' end... Useless info I know, but I used to have a "Union Carbide" covered hopper like that one, too! Will also see you in May!!

sandshifter
Looks good, I look forward to seeing it at Pontefract in January, it certainly moves on from Jack's original design and seems quite spacious. Colin
Ian Holmes
Looks great Hugh: Some very nice weathering on the structures. I'd echo the comments about the Ro-ro skip in the front there Ian
