Padishar Creel
Well Spotted! I wondered what was taking them so long to get them on the site. 1x Tornado & 1x 5MT for Ropley pre-ordered! Now to hope they arrive a good few months apart to ease the pain on the wallet Tom. Anybody else had difficulties ordering more than 1 of any item from the "Harry Potter" section of Hattons' site? I tried three alternative ways to create mutplie quantities of an item and all three failed (worked fine on the other sections) I have eMailed Hattons asking about this and am awaiting their reply. Should I get one, I'll post it. JGP

RMweb Gold TomE Posted March 16, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 16, 2011 I hope this doesn't mean my order has been cancelled due to the move... I ordered whilst they were in the 'Harry Potter' section and they still show in my orders so I think you'll be ok! Tom
RMweb Gold TomE Posted March 18, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 18, 2011 For those interested, there is a CAD image of the DMSO for the N gauge Class 350 in the latest Rail Express. Tom.
Karhedron
For those interested, there is a CAD image of the DMSO for the N gauge Class 350 in the latest Rail Express. This is also available online here as well as a selection of other work-in-progress shots. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?fbid=10150115284368207&id=176420418206&aid=284650 On a separate note, I have decided to order an Ivatt 2MT. As a WR fan I initially had no great interest in these engines until I learned that the last 25 were built at Swindon and allocated to the WR. Hattons still have these on pre-order for £58 while the RRP has now gone up to £94.45 so it seemed like a good opportunity to grab a bargain.
Andy T
Does anyone know exactly when the Desiro is due for release ? . The reason i ask is because i am about to rebuild my current layout and at the moment my cash is a little tyed up with this project.
RMweb Gold TomE Posted March 18, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 18, 2011 I think you'll be safe. Since it's only at the CAD stage you've probably got 12 months + Tom.

Looks like i can calm down I'm with you on this, especially after seeing the total of my advanced orders - the one time when I do not want everything to be released "now"

RMweb Premium richierich Posted March 26, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 26, 2011 Finally had chance to look at the 2011/12 Farish range. All very positive and looking forward to the SPA wagons, Autoballasters, a new Class 20, well virtually everything aimed at for the modern image modeller A Class 150/1 and 150/2 in Northern Rail livery would be nice for 2012. As would a retooled Class 158. The currently model is more expensive than a Class 150 and is almost toy like in comparison. I do hope someone (Farish or Dapol) produce a new 158, as I'd buy many, just like I have with 150s, 153s and 156s! Thinking on this, if Bachmann did a Hornby Railroad, they could get a bit more mileage out of the old Farish tooling and get some entry level models at a lower price to encourage people to try N. Same goes for wagons as a suggestion. If Farish offered multipacks of HHAs, HAAs, HYAs, Seacows, BYAs, etc would be very encouraging to build scale length trains :)But great to see another run of GBRf and Fastline HYAs, so can get a scale length rake together :-) The Class 350 Desiro EMU is nice, but not much good here in Yorkshire, unless Farish tool as Class 185 DMU Only disappointments was no Class 37/4 Refurbished model!!! Its a bit surprising considering how popular the Class 37 is especially with the profileration of tooling for the OO version (Vulcan and RSH Darlington build, 37/4, 37/5, 37/6, 37/7 and 37/9). Hopefully it might be a surprise model through the year. Indeed with the FNA Nuclear Flask a pair of DRS Class 37s would be very nice, especially considering DRS are now the main mainline operator of the class! Also disappointed not to see a retooled TEA bogie tanker. Would be a very useful model. The other surprise is not redesigning the PCB within the 57, 60 and 66 to have a DCC 6 pin (NEM651) socket. Was recently looking one of my Farish 66s and its so close with the existing board to fit the 36-558 decoder. An easy win for Bachmann?
Dave777
Also disappointed not to see a retooled TEA bogie tanker. Would be a very useful model. I'd agree there, the existing model is starting to look pretty creaky and there's a cracking OO version with (presumably) a set of CAD/CAM diagrams all ready to go... dave flint
Re previous post asking for a 185......+ Much as I'd like one, its virtually a different model entirely. The 350 has a 20m body, 185s are 23m. The cab is different, the underframe different......and all three cars of 185s have different window arrangements. Someone might be brave and scratchbuild using these 350s as a basis, bit I don't think an rtr will appear anytime soon.
Stoker
"Original build version of the Class 08 diesel shunter" That is so annoying. I have literally just finished repainting an ews 08 into BR blue, to fade it with china clay weathering and rust etc. to resemble annabel of ECC Rocks works, assuming I'd have to make do with the wrong sort of 08. OK, oh well. That'll be another £70 to spend then.
Butler Henderson
Fraish made it known that they would back date the 08 quite early on, its just been a matter of waiting for it
Stoker
Fraish made it known that they would back date the 08 quite early on, its just been a matter of waiting for it It obviously slipped my attention. I'm not really that bothered. Perhaps I'll weather the next 08 to resemble the same locomotive but earlier in it's life, with less clay dust, rust, fading etc. Or maybe I'll keep it as a BR owned shunter, and just use the other as the permanent clay works shunter. Roy L S
Anyone have any knowledge on how the J39 is progressing? I can see some conversions presenting themselves with this one! Hi Steve I asked Graham Hubbard and Colin Allbright at the NGS AGM. Aparently the J39 is still some way off, likely to be sometime mid-2012 from all accounts. In truth that's fine by me, it gives my wallet a chance to recover from the two A1's I have on order! Cheers Roy

woodenhead
Bit sad about that trailing truck, still a nasty gap that wouldn't exist in reality and doesn't exist in 00, but put on the scale front bogies and it looks very much like it's 00 cousin.
