Hi , over the past few years i have acumulated a large number of white metal and brass kits. I enjoy building these but dont favour any paticular period or company so i have ended up with a stable of unusal locos.I have now got the time to finsh these off . I have posted some photos of a De Glehn it (SE fine cast) the body casting is very good and went together well how ever I 'm missing some items cylinder block, motor, gears assembly instuctions etc so iam endevoring to track these down

That looks like a really interesting kit, hopefully you can find the pieces you require to finish it. I guess the other option would be to scratchbuild the missing bits or adapt what is commercially available, the locomotive looks like it has been 'westernized' so what you need might be out there. Maybe some of the more knowledgeable people here could point you in the right direction. Make sure you post some photo's when it's done.

Cheers.

Mark.

South East Finecast now has the ex-Wills range and have been giving the range replacement chassis' http://www.sefinecast.co.uk/Locomotives/Bodyline%20Locomotive%20Kits%204.htm . De Glehn is in the bodyline range though so no chassis. The cylinders do however just look tubular in section that you could possibly make with brass tube? SEF do sell castings separately though so if its one of those you could get one on its own.

As for motor and gearbox I would recommend something from the High Level range, you'll be able to find something to fit perfectly i'm sure and the performance of these is superb.

It may be worthwhile to give SEF (Dave Ellis) a call directly - their spares service is very good, and with the help of the original exploded diagram, they can price every single part or etch. If cylinders for the de Glehn were supplied as castings, then they should be on SEF's spares list. They can also supply instruction sheets.
