RMweb Premium spamcan61 Posted August 16, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 16, 2011 Generally a trip from Hinton Admiral to Bomo. for the air festival is my once yearly train trip, driving round Bomo. is bad enough under normal circumstances. Lady_Ava_Hay
I will be there all four days. We enjoy the show anyway and we can walk as we only live about a mile or so from Boscombe pier and I have a bus pass anyway. We will be meeting a friend we met last year from Cheshire. A near washout last year, this year sees rain on Thursday and sunshine Friday, Saturday and maybe Sunday. fingers crossed!
RMweb Premium spamcan61 Posted August 18, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 18, 2011 Anyone contemplating going to the Air Festival today should note that parts of Bournemouth area have had close to 2 inches of rain today, bring wellies and a RIB. :-/ http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/9203246.UPDATED__Flooding_and_travel_disruption_after_heavy_rain_hits_Dorset/
trisonic
Good luck! Wantagh, Long Island, had a record 10" plus in 24 hours last Sunday - yes that is 10" of rain NOT standing water - unfortunately this system is out in the mid-Atlantic heading east. Best, Pete. RMweb Premium spamcan61 Posted August 18, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 18, 2011 All flying at Bournemouth today has been cancelled, given 100% low cloud cover and the Lower Gardens now being water gardens not a surprising decision. Edit: The race is on now to see if we can inflate #1 son's little dinghy before the 9" deep lake outside our front door drains away!

RMweb Premium spamcan61 Posted August 18, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 18, 2011 Looks like there has been a change of plan and the evening flying is going ahead, so BoB memorial flight, Hunter and Sea Vixen at least should show up:- http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/9203819.Dusk_display_WILL_go_ahead_tonight/
pitbull1845
All flying has been cancelled, as have the fireworks and stage show... If you're lucky I might fly over at some point, we'll try and buzz the pier!
