Implacable
Can anyone please help me. I may be going mad, and probably many people would say i got there years ago. But I seem to remember that Dapol announced their intentions to produce the new Freightliner loco about 18 months ago. Was it in a magazine, or on the their website? birdseyecircus
It wwas announced by Dapol, on the back of the real thing being announced. I guess they may have back tracked now that Bachmann have made their plans clear. Paul
bmthtrains - David
They did announce it, then withdrew the announcement the next day, presumably as they discovered the exlcusive deal with Bachmann! See thread in the Bachmann section for the 00 and N release plans David

See thread in the Bachmann section for the 00 and N release plans David Thanks for the information. I thought Dapol had gone very quiet. I thought i didn't remember seeing the usual deluge of Dapol CAD drawings/artist impressions.
HSTcallum
Personally, I would of prefered it if Dapol made the powerhauls as they seem to be able to price their products more fairly. I could by a Dapol 66 for half the price of a GF version B)
Karhedron
There is probably not much in it. If you look at their recent diesel releases (class 67 and 24 respectively), both have received very positive reviews.
bmthtrains - David
Brand new Dapol locos cost the same (if not more as the large retailers seem to have less room for discounts) than Farish. Farish stock also tends to be built well and contains working parts that...um, work, in my experience. Much rather Farish did this than Dapol. Mod3
As it appears that Dapol have dropped the class 70 it is not appropriate to muse over how good, or otherwise, their version would have been so can we resist the urge to have a dig at Dapol please. Agreed, I have not had any problems (touch wood) with Dapol products. Since we know for a fact that Dapol are not producing a class 70, perhaps it is time to close this thread. It is unlikely to produce anything constructive.
