creating a scrap 47 from a scrap Hornby 47

Recommended Posts

hi ih ave a Hornby class 47 thats abit of a mess, i brought it with a lima chassis with no wheels and a Hornby body with no glazing, i plan to make a fl 47 in its ending days, the lco will not be a runner, just a sit at teh end of a siding sort of thing, the loco has no buffer beams so i am scratch bulding pretty much alot, also the front had big holes drilled in the front? assuming for lights?

on to the photos

i am part way through the project

i think weathering is the key here also small details like a missing door ect oh and a condemed symbol on it for the finnishing details. if its been sat in a sideing its not so much rust your after its more the effects of the weather as this moldy 47 will show http://www.locoscene.co.uk/images/tn_loco_1221850268.jpg
