Falmouth Model Railway Club’s 7th Annual 'Three Spires Railex'

Following the very successful 2011 exhibition, the line up for 2012 will be just as exciting and will again host many high quality layouts and demonstration stands on 18/19 August.

Due to construction work commencing in early July on Truro School's new Sports Hall, we are unable to hold our exhibition there this year. This has meant we have had to find another venue at short notice- The Stithians Centre, Church Road, Stithians. Google Map reference: 50.190666,-5.179178 – please cut and paste into browser

However, there is a positive side to the change of location, in that we will be less than a mile from the West of England Steam Engine Rally, which is being held at the Stithians Showground on the 17th to 19th August.

Why not make a special weekend of it and visit both shows while in Stithians?

Due to the smaller venue, space is at a premium, so we have decided to make way for the other traders who have supported the club over the years. We are still available to supply local modellers - just call first please.

Shame about having to move.....Is it easier to get the bus from Camborne or Penryn?

Hi Mickey

Not the best service however the first link details free buses to the Stithians Show which is a I reckon a 20 min walk from the hall

The second link is the standard 3 buses a day service to/from Stithians

I hope you can make it to the show

If you are with us on holiday this week, why not combine a visit to Three Spires Railex with the West of England steam rally? West of England Steam Engine Rally

The show is a short distance from the rally showground which will have a great selection of full-scale steam, models and vintage attractions. Three Spires will be maintaining the usual high standard of layouts despite a reduction in floorspace, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Am I right in understanding that the show will revert to the school in Truro from 2013?

Edit - due to initial posting coming out absurdly small!

It is too early say at this time because we do not know the extent of the works being undertaken at Truro School nor, as a result of the new building, what implications this may have on any future hire charge revisions. I would hope we can continue to use it as it is a good venue with on-site accomodation.
