At that time a run round loop was available just before the station (used to serve a local industry). The 31 would propel back to the loop, no signals were involved, the driver having the single line token from Oxmarsh. The ground frame(s) were released by the token. Once the run round had taken place, the train would then propel back into the platform ready for the next departure.

Now I suddenly have an excuse to run a two coach special into a dead end, and then set back without running around. This is excellent!

The loop was about a quarter mile or so towards Oxmarsh. There was a road Xing just before the pointwork, Pasture Road springs to mind, but anyway the last road crossing before Barton station. The industry was Brit..something from memory and sometimes produced a class 56.

The chemical works had various owners, Fisons, Albright & Wilson spring to mind.
