Gw 28xx detail part under boiler

The Hornby 3803 I have just recived has a damaged boiler support? the semi circular part just behind the smoke box

Rather than send it back, I've asked for a partial refund to cover fixing it.

Does anyone know the technical name of this component, and if anyone sells it.

The alternative will be to include it on the etch I am getting done this month, in which case a drawing or close up detail photo of this component would be welcome.

Thanks

Rich

Hi All,

No, those shots don't help Mr B. These pictures are of the original Churchward 28XX No. 2807. No. 3803 is a member of the 2884 class which was subtly different in several areas. The pictures at the link below of the closely related No. 3822 will show the later, shorter version:

That's GWR standardisation for you...

All the best,

Castle

I think you'd be better off designing a replacement etch. I'd be surprised if Hornby were willing to supply anything to do with China-made bodies these days...
