Andy Y
WAVERLEY ROUTE TRIOLOGY COMPLETED Publication of the Middleton Press Galashiels to Edinburgh album today (7th December 2013) completes the triology of albums from the publisher, covering the 98.25 mile long Waverley route from Carlisle to Edinburgh through the Borders. Authors Roger Darsley and Dennis Lovett began the journey in 2010 with the release of Carlisle to Hawick. This was followed by coverage of the central section between Hawick and Galashiels in 2012. The new edition covers the northern section between Galashiels and Edinburgh which is currently being reinstated as the Borders Railway. Each album provides pictures, maps and historical information of stations and other facilities and follows the successful format which has resulted in over 500 albums being published since 1981. Publication of the Carlisle to Hawick album was the first to cross the border into Scotland. The joint authors have also covered Hexham to Hawick (the Border Counties line) published in 2011 and St. Boswells to Berwick via Duns which was published earlier this year. The 96 page Galashiels to Edinburgh album is available from bookshops for £16.95 or direct from Middleton Press (post free) and contains 120 pictures, maps and historical information.
