steviesparx
Hello, Can anyone tell me how to remove the body on early Hornby HST non powered and powered cars, please. Thankyou, Keith Early, I presume you mean original Margate made HSTs with / without Ringfield motor...? Secured by a lug at back ( under connecting corridor door ) and lugs under both cab doors...pull the chassis down from body about middle of model ( fuel tanks ) and rear lug should release fairly easy. Cab lugs should then pop out too, but be aware chassis slides into body a little at the cab end so you'll need to pull out when lugs released - all easier than it sounds really. I have noticed on later Chinese made examples that the cab can come away from the rest of the body sometimes, which doesn't seem to happen on Margate examples ( less glue perhaps ? )
Keith George
Thankyou very much for that, mission accomplished. I had noticed the lugs and had tried to spring them but they seemed to be held solid, so held back in case there was another fixing point. A little bit more leverage this time and success. Regards, Keith.
