RMweb Premium Crepello Posted January 18, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 18, 2014 I've just received a pack of Dapol 2A-001-001 Fire irons and hand lamps. I bought it to see what the lamps were like, but the irons look exquisite. The lamps are smaller than the Springside ones (approx. 2.5mm high compared with 4mm), made of white plastic with 2 silver and 2 red-painted 'lenses' rather than Springside's jewels; there's a small locating pin on the back which could be cut off if not required. Whether they're a truly accurate version of loco/stock head/tail lights is hard to see but they would appear to solve the problem of oversize lamps which has always bugged us. Well worth a trial purchase I think.
gdandridge
Sounds great. Who did you buy them through & what price did you pay? Might have to give them a go since I've been considering fitting lamps. Gavin.

I got them from Hattons--presumably under Dapol accessories. Have a look at the ehattons site and they should be there. I've suggested to Dapol on Facebook that they market the lamps in bulk as it would be rather pricey to equip my fleet with these lights in the present packs!
