RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted February 16, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 16, 2014 If they were sandwiched between a 58 and a couple of jockos then they may have been 90037, 90025, 90031. Mike.

Fat Controller
Jocko - another name for an 08 shunter. Don't know why. Originally used for LMS 3F 0-6-0ts, some of which had been built in Scotland, I believe.

Mike. Thanks mate. There appeared to be all sorts of rotting stuff lurking. I think there was a 58 in Waterman's place too There was an 'ex works' 47 somewhere in the area; might have been the old Diesel Shed site, but I was almost asleep by this point! Oh how Crewe is such a shadow of it's former self. Is Tesco on the old Crewe Nortrh Shed site? P

black and decker boy
Got this at the Crewe "electrics" depot last year 08810 shunter.... That will be on the L&NWR depot (formerly Waterman, now Arriva = DB Regio) which is the old carriage shed. The old Diesel depot is still DB Shencker but used ad hoc by Riviera Trains. The Electric Depot is still firmly DB Shencker. Then there is Gresty Bridge which is DRS. Frieghtliner have a servicing point (incl pit) in Basford Hall yard. Still quite busy but the heady days of the 1980s & 90s which I can remember are sadly long gone. As of last week, so is alot of the station roof! RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted February 17, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted February 17, 2014 Riviera trains - that explains a very smart choc and cream coach set parked there. There was also a couple of Arriva Wales sets as well. Gresty Bridge was stuffed full of DRS loco's; looked like a 'proper shed'. P

Rgds.......Mike Morrisons in St Helens was actually built in the old Sutton Oak steam shed, up until it's demolition a few years ago you really could have bunked a supermarket. Can't find a pic of it under Morrisons ownership though. Mike.

Clearwater
Have just found this thread as travellingon the Chester to Crewe line, for the first time, and saw a load of decaying electric locos and wanted to work out what/why they were. Doesn’t look to have changed much in the last four years. There was, however, a smartly painted 87035 at the rear of the heritage centre David
