Del
As more products become available to model wintry snow and ice, it makes me wonder how you'd easily model rain, or more specifically the immediate aftermath of rain such as puddles and wet pavements. I remember seeing a line in an Iain Rice book, which mentioned a spraying of satin varnish. Would that be sufficient? Has anyone tried it?
HLT 0109
I have a wet scene on my layout. All I did was use Ronseal Clear Satin Varnish on top of the final coat of paint. This gave an overall wet appearance - I did not try to replicate puddles. However, it needs to be borne in mind that wet tarmac (for example) is much darker than dry so the top coat of paint needs to be darker, and concrete structures tend to show darker streaks when wet.
