HO scale modern US automobiles

Although I've been building small HO US layouts for years, I've only ever bought a few cars and trucks.

I've always found decent quality autos and trucks to be expensive relative to boxcars etc.

I'm looking for help to find good quality  autos eg. the Atlas Ford Explorer 1993 ( presumably they are still around today?)

I'm  simply wanting modern Sedans, SUVs, Pick-ups etc. Just your everyday US motorists type of vehicles.

Your suggestions for suitable vehicles, makers, retailers etc would be welcome.

I've looked at Model Junction here in the UK who have over a 100 vehicles but most of them are seem to suitable only for transition era layouts.

Thanks,

Mal

Try a search for Ricko models - they do a couple of useful cars - Dodge Caliber , Chrysler 300C , Lexus SUV and Dodge Charger (which is also available as a police and sheriff car).

I've obtained them via the usual auction site and also Amazon,

These days '93 Explorer would be less common in the midwest/north east (aka The Rust Belt), but likely much more common in the west/southwest/south (where road salt is not prevalent for a third of the year).

River Point Station makes a very nice Ford Expedition.

Herpa offers some nice European cars we see quite frequently over here, including the Mini Cooper (or a "speed bump" according to one of my friends who drives long haul trucks).

Thanks. I've just found some of those RPS Ford Expeditions on Model Junction's website. They look exactly the sort of vehicle what I'm looking for. This 'Dockside Services' example looks good.
