robmcg
Hi All, Could someone please tell me or suggest where I might find the colour of the headboard on 'The Thanet Belle', Victoria-Margate-Ramsgate 1948-53 please? b+w pics of the time make my guesses inconclusive....blue? Thanks in advance, Rob (who has just bought the Hornby trainpack with s21C157 'Biggin Hill')
robmcg
here is a guess, can someone say if it's close, or make a better guess? [was blue, edited pic below now] All 10 Pullmans, clear Kent coast air... or as Rigsby would say, "straight off the Urals" ... early BR 1949 train. sandwich station
Precision Labels do a set for the Thanet/Kentist Belle which includes headboards. The colour photo (of their labels) on the website shows it as being green.
robmcg
Thankyou sandwich station I shall modify it shortly, looks like yellowish lettering too, not unlike the engine lining. done... in shade, looked a bit more apple green than Malachite, yellowish lettering, I'll call it a trick of the light.... Thanks again. see above for edited version.
