Londontram
I found this site while looking round the web and thought it might interest some of you. There are a few free down loads of ships, tugs, barges, quay and sea wall structures etc. that you might be able to resize and use as well as lots of other interesting period ships that could come in handy for a harbour scene. corax67
Some interesting projects on that site - I've never built with card before but my father-in-law does and it does intrigue me somewhat. The ships may be enough to prompt me to try.
RMweb Gold griffgriff Posted April 16, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 16, 2014 Some of the free bit look interesting too.
Phil Howe
Well spotted Londontram I'm fancying a couple of coal barges or a Thames lighter or two for a mucky dock diorama. Not too sure about scaling them up to 4mm scale though; may just stick to the 1:250 and build it for fun. Cheers Phil
Michael Carmody
Would I be right in saying that you need to scale these up by approx 3.3 times?
Phil Howe
Yes, 329% is likely to degrade the resolution quite badly for 4mm. However, I did see that some of their models are also available in 1:160, which is quite a bit closer (210%), and would be perfectly easy to scale for anyone modelling in N. When I get off this iPad and back onto my laptop sometime over the weekend I may have a play with some of their free kits. This could be a really valuable resource, offering something a little bit different for anyone fancying a river/dock/harbour/coastal theme.
