Paul-2mm
I went along to the steam gala on Saturday with my dad, the weather was perfect and we had a great day. Not steam but my favourite diesel locomotive class. And the reason we made the trip, a ride behind Bittern. My only complaint if there was one is that the organisation seemed to be a bit of a shambles. Not one of the multiple people asked knew which train Bittern would be hauling so we spent more time than we would have liked watching and waiting for it to make an appearance at Grosmont, time we could have spent riding along to Goathland behind the Lambton tank and catching the next train back to Grosmont. Hopefully we will make it back for the diesel gala in September.

Boris
Gala information provision to staff usually is somewhere between poor and crap.
RMweb Gold Worsdell forever Posted May 6, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 6, 2014 The A4 setting off from Grosmont with the 9.30 to Pickering on Monday was to say the least pathetic, first it got stuck in it's 'dead spot' then it seemed to have a driver that didn't know what that big lever is for... The ride up to Battersby behind the B1 was spectacular. Meeting a 142 & 156 at Glaisdale on the way back. No 29 looking at it's best.
