A couple of mildly interesting buildings. One on Staten Island (Port Richmond) the other in North Plainfield, New Jersey. Apologies that quality is not the best; taken with Iphone. Please click on the photos to enlarge!

First off Staten Island. This is the side wall of a Latin bodega (grocery store):

It was impossible to get straight head on view of this mural!

North Plainfield , New Jersey Hot Dog/Burger joint  (non-chain, so far as I know):

This will be an occasional series...

I can’t remember whether I posted this photo of a section of row houses (and store) situated in Lambertville, NJ. If I did it was probably in a thread that has not been looked at for yonks... Typical of older towns before the advent of strip malls.

Lambertville is situated on the Delaware River and is an old canal town followed by the railroad, in turn,  which followed the route of the Delaware (it’s a wild, powerful river).

The old station at Lambertville. I believe that the original RR was called something like: Trenton, Delaware and Belvedere RR. The canal is just to the left of the photo.

Yes, They have tables outside overlooking the RR yard - literally 3 yards away. Do good sandwiches too. Park in Lambertville (they have municipal parking just south of Bridge Street) though and then stroll across the bridge to New Hope (Parking can be difficult - and a rip-off over there).

It was the Belvidere Delaware Railroad (called the “Bel Del”) and was chartered as long ago as 1836.......(the same year as the London & Greenwich Railway opened).

Would make a nice layout for someone with room for a sinuous line incorporating riverfront and canal.
