JohnMartin90125
I have a couple of Bachmann 08 shunters, very good models but one thing that lets them down are the handrails on the engine compartment, they seem so crude next to my Hornby version. Are there any third party suppliers who have finer replacements? Same issue with their BR standard brake vans. Again, very good models but let down with what appear to be ill-fitting rails. brossard
I have a similar issue in that they are plastic and quite fragile. Mine are broken. I'd like to know if there are any more robust replacements out there. Otherwise I suppose I'll just have to try to fix them with wire. John
steveb860
I use .45 nickel silver wire which I usually obtain from mainly trains, formed using a Bill Bedford handrail jig.

Be delighted with any suggestions. Regards
SRman
Yep Steve, kind of what I thought, just have to get round to doing it. John I have two Round Tuits, John. I'd let you have one but I think I need both, with all the jobs I still have on the workbench; particularly those awaiting bending and fitting of handrails and fitting of glazing! Ran a length of wire the full length and then once that had been glued in place trimmed short lengths of wire to fit between it and holes in the body as required.
