RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted August 20, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 20, 2014 If you saved the image in jpeg format, try renaming the file from .JPG to .jpg , or try renaming the file from .jpeg to .jpg The developers of this software should have allowed for such variations, but they tend to be a bit lacking in imagination. If you saved it in some other format, such as .raw from your camera, you need to convert it to .jpg format. The software which came with your camera should be able to do that. Martin. kirley
Thanks for your reply. All my images have the .jpg extension. I tried retyping them again with .jpg and still get the same message when I try to Post.
DonB
Does Dropbox add another extension on exporting? Try uploading to your computer from Dropbox and see what file extension appears. If you can (ie. have a suitable image), try uploading a .jpg image direct from your computer (don't forget the 1MB limit on size!)

RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted August 20, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 20, 2014 Hi, The problem is that you have put an apostrophe in your folder name: ...../u/96843681/Workbench/MPD's/IMG_1106a.jpg ^ That's not legal in a URL on the internet and it's a mystery to me how you managed to create it in the first place. If you rename your folder MPD's as MPDs (which is actually correct English) it will probably work ok. For the future when naming files and folders use only: 0..9 a..z and underscores _ and nothing else, and preferably all in lower case only. regards, Martin. Sandy Harper
Hi Martin In the last 10 days I have noticed that I can no longer attach photo files into posts. I can upload them as normal and they will all appear in the post as 'Attached Thumbnails' without any input from me. I cannot then add text in between the photos. Today I tried to reply to a post with a 'quote'. It would not appear in the new post window. I tried 'copy and paste' still no luck. I have not changed anything that I am aware of on my laptop. All other programmes appear to be working correctly. I use Google Chrome as my browser. Any suggestions how to get the facility back? Kind regards Sandy
kirley
Hi, The problem is that you have put an apostrophe in your folder name: Martin. Thanks Martin, the apostrophe was entered when I named the folder in Dropbox. Now sorted. K
RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted August 21, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 21, 2014 the apostrophe was entered when I named the folder in Dropbox. Now sorted. In that case it is 3/10 see me for Dropbox. I'm glad you got it sorted. Martin.
MikeOxon
For the future when naming files and folders use only: 0..9 a..z and underscores _ and nothing else, and preferably all in lower case only. This is very sound advice. Unfortunately, Microsoft allow all sorts of 'illegal' characters in file names (spaces, upper-case, etc), which can cause havoc when loading files to the web. I've had many problems loading files to my own website, whenever I forgot that upper and lower case characters are 'different' on the web
