Jamiel
Does anyone know if anyone manufactures a set of detailing pipes to fit under the cab of the the Bachmann Unrebulit Patriot (OO Gauge)? It was something pointed out in the listing in the annual 'Model Rail, British Model Trains' publication.Looking at the Hornby Royal Scot (and presumably their rebuilt Patriot) there are a lovely set of metal detail pipes under the cab, and it would be nice to add something similar to the Unrebuilt Patriot.I know that it would be possible to make a set of pipes from either brass wires or plastic, but if there is already a set available, it would be nice to try those. If there are similar sets of pipes that could be 'bashed' to match the ones on the Patriot that would be very helpful too know of too.Looking forward to hearing any replies.Jamie
brossard
Are these the sort of things you need Jamie: http://www.brassmasters.co.uk/images/Hornby%20Black%205/hb52.jpg The loco is a Hornby Black 5 but the gubbins was pretty standard. I got John to break out some 4F castings from the kit so perhaps if you ask nicely.... I note that there's a detailing kit for the rebuilt Patriot, but didn't see injectors listed. http://www.brassmasters.co.uk/detailing_kits.htm Take a look through the various offerings. You can view instructions and pictures. John
Jamiel
Thank you John. The answer is 'yes', those are exactly what I am looking for. I will contact Brassmasters and ask if it is possible to get the injectors separately.I had found the etched Rebuilt Patriot and Royal Scot detailing etch, but hadn't looked depply enough to fit the castings you have shown.I think they might need a little extra brass wire to cover a couple of extra pipes on the Patriot, but those are just plain pipes, and it is the molded detail on the injectors that would really make the difference.Perhaps with others who have read the review in the Model Rail annual will be interested and John at Brassmasters might find a new opportunity to market those castings to those with other models to detail. Many thanks for your help.Jamie

Jamiel
Thanks Farren, the Comet ones look exactly right for what I want on the Patriot.I'll have a good look around both sites over the weekend. Some of the Brassmasters detailing packs are nice, and I would like a couple of front bogie etches for my Ivatt 4MTs too.Jamie

Jamiel
I picked up a Brassmasters sprue with both Stanier and Hughes injectors at Expo Em North last weekend, nice guys. I just need to ask them which are which, there are probably instruction on their website. I can now do my Patriot and Black 5.I need to contact them anyway, as I want a couple of their front pony trucks for my two Ivatt 4MTs, and they couldn't take a card payment last weekend.I'll post a couple of photos of the sprue later in case anyone can be of help with the parts.Jamie
