Andy Y
We are inviting showgoers to vote on Saturday for two awards at RMweb Live. The first is for the Best Layout and is what is says on the tin. The second award is the Shakespeare Spirit award which will be for the most inspiring layout or demo in the show so keep your eyes peeled for something that motivates you to go away and do something. Just go along to the BRM stand and complete the voting form and drop it in the box. The awards will be presented along with other awards at the Saturday evening social event for exhibitors, demos and trade.
Brandyman
I've only just finished loading "Cliffhanger" in the van! Andy, If you require it "canned" and a label attached then I need more notice. "and is what it says on the tin" Jeff
Barnaby
Late decision to try for the RMLive show this week end so came looking for some details and................. Seems a little quaint Andy................. The awards will be presented along with other awards at the Saturday evening social event for exhibitors, demos and trade. so you want showgoers to vote but not to have any part in the prize giving ceremony at the social event. A bit like buying a ticket for the FA cup final but having the cup presentation in the directors box at their after match beer-up. Maybe somebody will take some good photos................. Andy Y
We could have just had a panel to decide but opened it up for everyone there to have say on these awards and it's been our view that exhibitors and demos deserve a pat on the back after putting themselves out for the entertainment of others. Barnaby
No probs with the show team getting a pat on the back it's hard work doing a show as I know having done international shows in the States Spain and German, happily retired now though. I just thought it read a bit, a bit, well quaint. Maybe thought for another time to see if there are any stay behinders or stay overs who would like to join in the festivities for a small fee. A beer, a chip butty and lots of model talk.for just a couple of hours. Regards
trisonic
Andy, Did the webcam idea fall through in the end? I meant the overview not the one stuck to your head......... Best, Pete.
Andy Y
Too many technical issues to overcome with it Pete I'm afraid, you need cams with a mobile data connection streaming to a server - unreliable and costly.
trisonic
Thanks for testing the waters anyway, Andy! I’m sure we will get some nice photos posted - faces to monikers would be good if possible. Good Luck! Best, Pete.
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted September 11, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 11, 2014 Andy, Did the webcam idea fall through in the end? I meant the overview not the one stuck to your head......... Best, Pete. Now if I'd had the laptop to hand we'd have a crack at a Borg version of Mr Y Wait a few years and we will have virtual people trundling around on a drone, with a rucksack
