Hi All

Are different Gaugemaster handsets compatible with each other?  ie  Would the handset that Dapol offer in their DCC trainsets work ok as a 2nd handset on a Prodigy Advance?

In a word - No

Sorry

Sorry, that's not correct.

In the Dapol DCC train set N diesel 2 - the current DCC set -  the DCC controller is a Gaugemaster Prodigy Express. The handset is more basic than the PA2 it's true, there is no ability to control accessories, but it will work fine with a PA2 system as a basic loco controller, just as it does with the Express system.

As the other guys have just said, that appears to be incorrect Brian.

The MRC web site has details.

The Express2 handset can be used with an Advanced2 system and an Advanced2 handset can be used with an Express2 system.

Both systems can have the Advanced wireless upgrade.

It's actually the newer Prodigy Express2 (squared).

Oh...Sorry.

I seem to have got myself confused!  Dapol have indeed used a GM Prodigy Express in their set!

For some reason I was thinking of Bachmann which includes their EZ Command in their set which of course is not compatible.
