jonny777
That is very very sad. Not only was he a great bass guitarist, but I loved his singing voice. One of my favourite albums is Out Of The Storm. I think "Keep It Down" shows what I mean -
Buckjumper
The bass guitarist's bass guitarist, and as Jonny777 says above, what a voice. RIP Jack.
RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted October 25, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 25, 2014 Very sad day. He was a bass player of exceptional talent. His style was so distinctive.http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/oct/25/jack-bruce-former-cream-man-dies-aged-71 He was my inspiration for bass playing. Rest peacefully Jack. You will be missed. My favorite: Met my ex after Cream's farewell concert at the Albert Hall on 26 November 1968. A great and memorable performance.

Leander
Sad news indeed. My first 'proper' gig was Cream at Southport Floral Hall in December 1966. Incredible bass player and one helluva voice! RIP Jack.
Arthur
That is sad news. This evening I'll spin up 'Wheels of Fire' in memory of Jack. RIP
Tim Lewis
Sad indeed. One of the greatest bass players ever (and a great voice too as others have said). Loved Cream, a lot of his solo stuff, and also his more esoteric ventures, notably his contribution to Carla Bley's epic Escalator Over the Hill. Sadly never saw him live, but he leaves a great recorded legacy.
Free At Last
Escalator Over The Hill, haven't played that for a while. No Answer is also due for a replay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0Pw1lkwioM

Always considered to be one of rock's true greats, he was also a proficient jazz musician. Virtuoso musician and tremendous vocalist (I still listen to Songs For A Tailor now and then, terrific album). RIP JB.
