3D printer

I got this flyer a couple of days back with a 3D printer on the front cover. The only details that I have are in the photos.

Just another extrusion printer - not suitable for printing detailed models.

Don't rule out extrusion machines so quickly, I have seen them capable of producing models perfectly acceptable for 4mm & 2mm, they just have to be designed with an understanding of the machines. I would love to go into more detail, but for commercially sensitive reasons I cannot.

I would agree with Wild Boar, I have to say I have seen a few of these machines although they do vary in quality, if your willing to spend then it's not actually that bad. I saw a well known brand printer their first version at a local show printing coach sides in PLA, and actually I was surprised by how well they were coming out So again I wouldn't rule it out... in fact I am thinking of going down this route, just waiting for a few samples to turn up to see how they are and how hard they are to finish ect...

But certainly still worth looking at.

I remain unconvinced, I am afraid, having seen samples from several extrusion printers including a Makerbot which I have on extended loan from a friend.

 

Feel free to post photos of any good results.

 

I have seen some coach sides which were bordering on reasonable, but the same printer performed poorly printing the same coach in one piece. Hence, I regard it as a 2.5D printer rather than a 3D printer.
