dibber25
Some of the things you can do at the Model Rail stand at the NEC this coming weekend (Nov 22/23): Pre-order our forthcoming 'USA' 0-6-0T. Two new liveries will be launched at the show. If you want a 'USA' you need to be quick placing your pre-order as one livery has already sold out and others are nearly all sold. Pre-order our Bachmann 'D11' 4-4-0 Marne which is expected into stock soon. Take advantage of our special show prices on our limited edition models (without post and packing charges). Buy the Hornby BBMF Class 91 - we'll have the last few from our 1,000 stock which is nearly sold out Grab a bargain from the Model Rail charity box. We'll have a box of odds and ends, scenic accessories and die-cast vehicles which we're selling off and the proceeds will go to the Royal British Legion in this anniversary year. Strictly first come, first served. Once they're gone......they're gone. See 'Boscarne Junction' our mini-layout built for the book 'How to Build a Model Railway Vol 3' (the book is also available). This will be the layout's only public appearance before it goes to a new home in the West. Subscribe to Model Rail with a special show offer. Come along and say 'Hi' to the editorial team and welcome Mike Harris, our new Staff Writer, (who is also a pretty good modeller). TonyA
BR Departmental Black and LMR Blue. Blue engine is named, can't remember what he name is though The name was Major General Frank S. Ross, WD 300. It was withdrawn on Friday 26th September 1958. Although that is outside my modelling period (1965), I will definitely be ordering one. With thanks to The Longmoor Military Railway, Volume Three, for the information. Tony

dibber25
The Class 37 (37068 Grainflow) in triple grey livery and the two new USAs (LMR blue and BR departmental black) will be available to pre-order via the phone shortly. We just have to put the necessary arrangements in place in the aftermath of the Warley show. I'll post on here as soon as I have the necessary details. rue_d_etropal
A simple question on the USA tank loco. Not clear from initial info, but are they all same body/cab style or are they having the correct period cabs? This is even more evident on the Longmoor and NCB versions. dibber25
A simple question on the USA tank loco. Not clear from initial info, but are they all same body/cab style or are they having the correct period cabs? This is even more evident on the Longmoor and NCB versions. It was clear in the original announcement but may not be obvious in the later advertisements. They are being tooled with a number of different details including cabs and bunkers to represent both the original USATC style and the subsequent SR modifications. However, I think I'm correct in saying, due to numerous other minor differences between different builders we can only model locomotives which came from one US manufacturer. rue_d_etropal
Thanks Chris, I was hoping that, reading some of the detail again. The most obvious difference is the cab windows or lack of them.Obviously I am still interested for one of my own war time dockyard layouts. Dockyard layouts should be easier now anyway, noticed paragragh in latest mag, nicely pre-emted by Paul's excellent article. Parcel is on the way.
