Crisis Rail
Picked up these at a reasonable price from a exhibition about six months ago. Thought the brickwork was far too brown so scrubbed them down and scuffed them up with thinners to give a toned - weathered - aged look. Unfinished - plenty to do to them including powder weathering in the shaded recesses and corners later. Cobbling and buildings were inspired by a visit to the excellent Manchester Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in February. Always been a fan of Ringburn Yard with all its Speedlink - Enterprise interest with all sorts of palletised goods - boxes and barrels scattered about. A few members including Mason have promising layouts under construction with this theme - Springburn Yard is an excellent thread to view. Plagarism maybe on my part? - done to death? - but whatever. Out came the WILLS cobbled sheeting. Sheet packed out to just below railhead height. Probably the Best formers added for the low embankment. Oil stain ingress to the cobbles. The balsa uprights are supports for the trees and vegetation acting as scenic breaks. Track masked and drybrush weathered in. Awning to be attached to the building side - constructed from WILLS corrugated sheet and primed - images taken of this tomorrow. All in all a snapshot of what inspires me (at present at least thanks Ringburn) through shunting potential (OCA OBA VDA) with what will be a top end exhibition example of a Helly Jock Rf 26 with Mr Petty's soundchip - this thread will probably move to the Micro - Boxfile forum section.
