RMweb Gold mudmagnet Posted December 13, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 13, 2014 Sometime ago I detailed a Bachamm 08 using an article in a magazine. I now want to repeat on a second 08, but can't locate the article. I wondered if anyone could recall the article and point me in the right direction. I've tried searching the internet, but to no avail. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

JeffP
Realise it's far to small and lacks detail, plus the rails are almost a prototypical foot two narrow......... Throw away all 4mm scale and re-start in 7mm with an MMP 08 kit.......

Baby Deltic
I really don't like the Hornby 08. I have three that have hardly run because I prefer the look of the Bachy blackened wheels over the shiny rimmed toy like Hornby wheels.

I have three that have hardly run because I prefer the look of the Bachy blackened wheels over the shiny rimmed toy like Hornby wheels. Why not paint the rim on the Hornby wheels? That will give you 3 08's for the price of a tin of paint!

westcountryman
Hi Richard, I can't recall the 08 detailing article just offhand, however, there is a very good guide to weathering a Baccy Gronk in the Hornby Weathering skills guide. The only problem is, is that it deals with a BR green loco, & I know how keen you are on BR blue stock! I'll bring it along to the club on Tuesday. Cheers Rob

I think that this is the article that I remember reading. I'll have another look through my archived magazines / extracts (I tend to only keep the pages that I want to keep and discard { recyle } the rest, otherwise I end up with too many magazines!)
