Popsicle49
Impressed by reviews from members on this site I got myself some Gaugemaster axle-clip-on pads for use with IPA; I'm finding them impossible to use. The problem is that parts of the lower truck chassis (usually sides) don't allow the pad to sit high enough thus causing one end of the truck to ride clear of the rails. I've tried several types of standard goods wagon with the same result. It must be me so where am I going wrong. TIA Popsicle49
Pacific231G
When you say truck do you mean the wagon or are you using the American word for bogie? It might be worth getting hold of a cheap wagon, maybe even a European H0 one with a longer wheelbase, fitting it with whatever couplings you use and if necessary stripping some of the underframe detail to make it a dedicated vehicle just for track cleaning. Adding some weight to it might also help.

I'm running N gauge and by truck I mean wagon as in coal, refrigerated, oil or guard's van etc. Thanks for the suggestions though, maybe some butchering is in order. I found a discussion on these for N gauge here http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=7687.0 (I may be interested in them for H0) and it does seem like people who've used them successfully have done so with longer wheelbase rolling stock than a standard British four wheel wagon. RMweb Premium JDW Posted December 17, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 17, 2014 Not much help to the OP but for anyone using them in OO, I have them attached to the bogies of a Lima GUV, and they seem to work very well. I have one at each end, attached the opposite way around, to the outer ends of the bogies, so that one is being pushed and one is being pulled. It has extra weight added (3 9V batteries), though I didn't add the weight specially for that, and I've had them attached to other normal stock without a problem.
