cornish trains jez
Hi, Does anyone know whether Dapol intend to re run the executive and swallow liveries on their HST power cars as it seems impossible to obtain either of these models these days. I know there was once talk of releasing just the power cars as a set but that seems to have passed by the wayside. Beat regards, Jeremy
RMweb Premium Steve Purves Posted December 31, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 31, 2014 Apparently out in late feb. I asked Joel the same question before deciding whether or not to pay silly money for a secondhand one
cornish trains jez
That's good news. I've seen intercity sets going for silly money on eBay.
NSE DAZ
Hi As Steve has said they should be out late Feb I called Dapol last month to ask this question. cornish trains jez
Nice one. Will they be just the power cars?
NSE DAZ
Nice one. Will they be just the power cars? Product description is a book set meaning the power/dummy car plus two coaches, I think its a first class plus a standard? cornish trains jez
Thanks mate. Hopefully the coach roof colours will match in this time!

cornish trains jez
Jez, There hangs the rub what do you want them to match too? black or roof dark grey? Robert My blue grey bookset comes with black roofs whereas the separate coaches are roof grey. I'm not sure on the intercity liveried versions as I havent a bookset for one of these yet. scruff
Luckily Halfords satin black spray paint is a nigh on perfect match to Dapol's black roof colour. It is only a 10 minute job to pop the roof off and respray them. I know we shouldn't have to do that but I did all my HST coaches so they match. Hope that helps Mark
RMweb Premium Crepello Posted January 17, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 17, 2015 Or Humbrol satin black number 85.
tiger
Sorry to ask a dumb question - but what was the actual roof colour of these HST vehicles in blue/grey, Executive and IC swallow liveries? I am aware that Dapol has used both "roof grey" and black in these liveries, but I'm not sure which is correct. Cheers, Tom
RMweb Gold Adam1701D Posted January 20, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 20, 2015 I would go for black every time.

N Gauge David
I would be more interested in seeing Dapol issuing HSTs in new liveries instead of re-releasing liveries already produced. GNER blue and red - or East Coast anyone?

RMweb Premium Steven B Posted January 25, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 25, 2015 New liveries would be good but I'd be more interested in completing my existing HST. How long have we been waiting for the TGS? Happy modelling Steven B
RMweb Gold Robert Shrives Posted January 27, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2015 Hi TGS not to far away hopefully. I too have asked about filling in liveries. FGW fag packet high on list GNER and East coast discussed along with MK LHCS for Anglia. I also asked about some Grand central HST coaches as well- but that would need 250. Royals got a talk over as well but given need to over print windows and Queen saloon having a special entrance requiring new body it fell at an early hurdle, a possible for kick starter ? along with sleepers ?? Yellow peril coaches discussed TGSX2 , TS and RFM in yellow as a book set - interested ? At least standard coaches in yellow TGS with logo and no lines and TS and RFM with logo and lining to match power cars and same yellow as power cars is what I would specify as cheapest lookalike option. To get windows over printed would up the price due new art work not impossible but an add on wanted? Robert
cornish trains jez
Mk3 sleepers in all liveries carried by these vehicles would be excellent. There is an executive liveried HST book set on ebay, currently at £166 with 11 hours to go. I would imagine that price will go up as they never seem to come up so a re run of this livery would be benficial as I'm sure there are plenty of modellers out there who would want one. Looking forward to the TGS!!
RMweb Premium Steven B Posted January 27, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 27, 2015 Or go to one of the smaller model shops that still have the Executive livery HST for £128+P&P.... http://herefordmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=284&products_id=6301 Happy modelling. RMweb Gold Adam1701D Posted January 27, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2015 Would there be sufficient demand for a "heritage" TOC livery, such as GNER to justify a production batch of, say 250 models? East Coast will soon be consigned to history (boo!), so Dapol could steal a march by doing an HST with Virgin Trains East Coast branding,
Danfilm007
I agree with that - bring me the GNER!! (Oh, and a GNER 91 too!)

cornish trains jez
Given that link is dead should we assume you're now wearing a flak jacket ?!?!? Unfortunately the shop hadn't updated their website so no HST's were purchased. Looks like I'll have to wait for the re-runs. The flak jacket is back in the cupboard!
