RMweb Gold BoD Posted January 1, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 1, 2015 I have recently acquired a multimaus and am using it on my Lenz System. However functions F13-20 only flash when selected and do not activate the associated sounds. I am aware that there is a firmware update, mine has v1.02 and v1.04 is available on Roco's site. I really like this handset and so a couple of questions if any one out there can help 1) Is this a firmware issue or am I missing something else? Will a firmware upgrade solve this problem or is it a compatibility problem with Lenz. 2) There is an .exe file that appears to run the firmware update. Is this an upgrade to the multimaus command station or can the handset itself be upgraded? Any help would be appreciated.
Phil S
Since it is a 'computer file' .exe, it requires a computer connection to download the firmware into the handset. It is (or was) explained on the Roco website... You can use either the Rocomotion interface, or the MultiCentralePro interface, linked to your (PC) computer to perform the upgrade. You MIGHT be able to do it with just an expressnet computer interface, but I have never thried this! ... I think it very unlikely due to sublte protocol differences (an added header in normal comms) IF you know a Roco dealer, or other user, you may be able to get them to upgrade it ... it only takes a moment
RMweb Gold BoD Posted January 1, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 1, 2015 Thanks for that. I may have to find a user with the complete Roco set up as I only have a Lenz command station (albeit with the computer interface).
tractor_37260
Can anyone confirm that a Multimaus once updated to (V1.04) will allow access of functions of F13 to F20 using a Lenz LVZ100. TIA
Phil S
I don't use mine on a Lenz Master, only Roco Multimaus and Pro masters ´but both are Expressnet and Shift 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 will offer Functions 11-20 on any Expressnet sysytem supporting those functions. My Multimaus is V1.02 and if used directly with a Roco 10764 amplifier it can access up to F20, but not when used with a Lenz LZV100 via express net - hence my query re the V1.04 update ? That was one of my original questions too. Having said that it is not an issue that would stop me using the multimaus altogether. I suppose I could remap any sounds above F12 that I use a lot. A bit of a pain, but given that I don't have the facilities to do the upgrade myself it might be less hassle in the long run.
Suzie
What you are seeing is what happens when you have a V3.5 or earlier LZV100 which only supports functions up to F12. You will need to plug a new firmware EPROM into your LZV100 to make it v3.6 (or send it away for upgrade).
RMweb Gold BoD Posted January 2, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 2, 2015 Thanks Suzie but mine has been upgraded to 3.6. I can access all the functions using the LH100 handset.
tractor_37260
Thanks Suzie but mine has been upgraded to 3.6. I can access all the functions using the LH100 handset. My LZV100 is also V3.6 with access up to F28, but only F0 to F12 with the V1.02 Multimaus ! and as Suzie previously commented possibly ? F21 -F28 also, although I've not tried this yet.
