While looking through E-bay over Christmas I spotted a new 1/72 scale kit of an inshore rescue boat and thought it would be ideal for conversion to a work boat or fishing vessel.>>

I have ordered one and it arrived yesterday and I am looking into moving the bridge forward to convert it to an inshore fishing vessel ideal for a port or harbour scene in 00.

Airfix have recently brought out a 'Higgins Boat', one of the smallest types of landing craft, which might also be of use for a work boat.

Few if any of the Higgins boats were used commercially, they were very lightly built, however the LCT also made by Airfix was used. One, with a much rebuilt superstructure was used in the Solent for many years and another was actually used to deliver Double Deck buses to the Isle of Bute.
