RMweb Premium corneliuslundie Posted January 4, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 4, 2015 I am looking for a varioety of 4mm sheep to populate my forthcoming layout Sarn (Montgomeryshire). I have some but there are only three positions and there are therefore rather too many repeats in the set of 20. What suppliers can people suggest? Also, I want tome rather small ones to represent the improved Welsh Mountain breed. Any thoughts? 3mm? 3.5mm?

enginelane
The preiser set will give you the variety and will not be out of scale give the breed you are looking for. I used to keep a small flock in the early 1990s

Noch also do some sheep http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/161403293056?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108 With sheep one has to be careful to get them right with the time of year you are modelling. Early in the year they are woolly and have their lambs with them, by the summer they are bald and if the lambs are still with them the lambs are hairier but slightly smaller. By the autumn the wool is longer and fluffier, any female lambs the farmer is keeping will look like the adult ones.
RMweb Premium corneliuslundie Posted January 4, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted January 4, 2015 Thanks Clive. I forgot, I am also looking for lambs as I want to set it in spring. But one of the above includes a couple of lambs and most of them seem to have woolly coats. Thanks to everyone.
