RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted January 4, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 4, 2015 Last time we were in Denver the station was being rebuilt ready for the new commuter rail services and Amtrak was using a temporary station. In 2014 it reopened and Amtrak are back. The rebuilt station is superb with the main building being beautifully restored inside and out. The main frontage in Wynkoop St Inside it has numerous shops a great craft beer bar and Amtrak ticket office plus a hotel The biggest change is platform side with 7 new high level platforms and a subway linking to the underground bus terminal, out to the other side of the station platforms where the trams stop. When U first visited here the tracks still went through the station but it is now definitely a terminus Unfortunately you can no longer get to the Locos on the front of the Amtrak California Zephyr train as they are now in a restricted area at the end of the platforms. The whole train is reversed into the station. Commuter rail out to the airport is currently being built and will have overhead wires. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
