darren01
Hi Don't use PVA, it sets like concrete, You would be better off using Copy-dex. Just add a little bit of water and a drop or two of washing up liquid, get the cheapest washing up liquid as the more expensive ones have a beaching agent in them that can change the color of the ballast . mswjr
I have used top quality washing up liquid before on oo gauge track and that did leave some whiteish stains,so that is good to know,i have not heard the copydex way before, ill do a tester,I have only used pva,and yes it does go very hard, thanks for the tip
darren01
Hi MSWJR One trick to stop the ballast from spreading out at the the side of the track is to paint a strip down each side of the sleepers, Using coy-dex to the width of the ballast would be. Once this has set you can ballast the rest of the track, this way you end up with a very neat shoulder to the ballast. Darren
