Fat Controller
If you want some steel bar to replicate blooms or slabs, then B&Q (and other DIY stores) sell lengths of it; You might find it adds more weight than you want; in which case go for the aluminium from the same source. Wire coil loads for SPA/OBA/OCA are available from Ten Commandments; other coils are available from various sources.
ozzyo
Or you could just use plasicard and paint it to look like steel, That way you can have just about any thickness that you want. OzzyO.

RMweb Premium ColinK Posted June 22, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 22, 2015 I recently replaced some door handles at home. Each set includes two door handles and a square metal bar which goes inside the door between the two handles. The metal bars make perfect steel loads. crompton 33
How about this http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/You can cut it to the size you want. Then paint it rust or steel . Most model shop's keep it in stock.

lightengine
I keep finding steel 'things' on the road. They are about 20cm long, 2.5/3mm wide and about 0.5mm thick. I have so far got about 7. Some are rusted but most are still shiny. Stacked together they make a good looking and not too heavy load. If I find more I can pass some on. I have no idea what they are or where they originate from but they are always found in the road.
roy h
lightengine from your description sounds like part of a brush from a large road sweeper.
lightengine
lightengine from your description sounds like part of a brush from a large road sweeper. Aha. Good suggestion that. Only ever in the road and now thinking about it, roads that are kept swept.
