RMweb Gold papagolfjuliet Posted January 10, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 10, 2015 i always found ebay is a good indicator of whats coming. when all of a sudden a stream of previously rare models or kit builds of an unmodelled prototype suddenly starts making several appearances at the start of the year, it's usually an indicator of what might be coming on stream.. couple that to the rumour mill, your in good territory for a guess. Ive noticed one such rarity hitting ebay in good numbers in the last 3 months (15 no less since November - by comparison I was watching all last year and only saw 2) , that being a former model not produced in any great number for many many years... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIANG-Hornby-R752-BATTLE-SPACE-TURBO-CAR-IN-ORIGINAL-BOX-/191472694395?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2c94a9747b ? stock_2007
Is that the only livery they do it in?
shunny
I think perhaps the meaning of this is not so much they will produce every preserved loco available but more that every loco they produce going forward will be based on a preserved loco where they can CAD scan the real thing which has become a common practice recently. I know Dapol had a real issue with the class 29 as they struggled to find information and drawings to work on for the model which delayed its production so this approach does make a lot of sense. RMweb Gold papagolfjuliet Posted January 10, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 10, 2015 Is that the only livery they do it in? That's the only livery mentioned in Yeadon's Register.
RMweb Gold papagolfjuliet Posted January 10, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 10, 2015 (the one I had in mind does date from about the same time period as this though). Intriguing. Late Sixties, RTR, British, collectable, only produced in tiny numbers over the past few decades... Trans-Pennine DMU?
RMweb Premium Legend Posted January 10, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 10, 2015 Let's buy them a ticket to the Glasgow Transport Museum , Aviemore and Bo'ness and get some Scottosh prototypes . Travel south of the Thames should be off limits at least for the next few years.
RMweb Gold Dunsignalling Posted January 10, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 10, 2015 Until a couple of years ago, Bachmann seldom appeared to acknowledge that there was a 'South of the Thames'. John
PLD
There was a suggested long term aim to produce as many as possible of the National Collection... Is the OP's rumour a corruption of that??
Andy Y
Straight from the horse's mouth rather than rumour. Whilst we are very flattered that Bachmann are deemed capable of delivering such a vast undertaking, we are very sorry to say that this strategy is not an agreed Bachmann Company policy. As a company we continue to meet market demands and cater for different era’s. We work with both the heritage railway movement and the current railway operators to produce award winning models and there is no change of policy. We will continue to work with both in future”. David Haarhaus European Sales & Marketing Director Bachmann Europe Plc On that note I will close the topic off as it's been squarely dealt with thanks to David.
