All being well, Meg and I will be there with Sparkel - Bavarian HO snow scene.  Please speak to me.

I'll be there as part of the operating team on St Marnock & Ladeside

Look forward to seeing both of your layouts.

I've corrected a couple of my spelling errors as well!  Many thanks!

  • 2 weeks later...

Good lineup of layouts but, at the risk of being called pedantic, Steve Hall's layout is KING Cross, there is no S.  Nothing whatsoever to do with the large station in London but everything to do with a real district of Halifax.

He will undoubtedly tell you himself because if he had a quid for everytime it has been wrongly spelled etc. etc.

Greig,

I'm looking forward to seeing Poulton-le-Fylde again, I enjoyed it at Perth when I was there with Blackmill.

Are you going to go a short way down the tracks to see Poulton whilst you are down at Preston?

Cheers

Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy,

I think I will have to take a trip down to the actual Poulton-le-Fylde station to have a look around, it would be silly not to with it being so close :)

Hope final show prep is going well and shall see you all in a couple of weeks :)

Apologies to Steve Hall and you're definitely not pedantic pointing out my error. I think I owe him a pound! Now fixed here on the forum and it is definitely right in the Show Guide.

Perhaps he should share it with me then!

I may actually be coming this year on Saturday along with a mate or two.

Oh well, another show competed, Bee Lane now back in the clubhouse (not on the bonfire as some club members have suggested!  :nono:  ).

Hope everyone who came, enjoyed the show. I personally thought that there were some really good layouts there this year and managed to get a little time to see some of them and talk to the operators.

Until next year..... :scratchhead:

Cheers

Permit has been obtained from the House Controller!

Well, we (3 of us) got there (via Brock to view a car!) and we thought it was a good show.  Some nice layouts ( I especially liked Wellbridge) and some useful traders.  I came away with a light wallet and a heavy bag.

However (there's always one of them isn't there!) there wasn't any signage that I saw showing the way into the hall from the far reaches of the car park so we (and several others) wandered about a bit before someone who had been before showed us the way.  Also, in the cafe, there were no prices that I saw on display and no distinction between exhibitors and public serving points. Just little things which can enhance the visiting experience (to use PR speak).

They won't stop me coming again.

layout home safe and well, just a couple of couplers to fix before it's next outing.

Thanks to Les and his crew for a great weekend, there were some cracking layouts there this year, also plenty of interested punters asking questions about 59th and Rust and the Darkside, which is always a bonus, even had one guy taking photo's of the underneath of the layout!!

Here's to the next time!

What a fantastic show and a brilliant weekend overall, thoroughly enjoyed it with many excellent layouts.

On behalf of the Poulton-le-Fylde layout team I would like to thank Les and the Preston club for putting on a great show, lots of interest in the layout including one Gentleman who use to work at the full size station.

Cheers,

Greig
